Mistletoe Mixup
First up this round is Mistletoe Mixup. Like the Marry Christmas from Part 1, Marry Christmas, this is another Lawrence brothers film. Same cast, same review - slightly better.
Rating: Good for background noise. Put this one on when you hands are occupied with something else like wrapping presents.
The Family Holiday
Next we have The Family Holiday, a reasonably coherent made for TV movie. The surprise ending was predictable. The characters were buttoned up. I had the sense there was a much darker and serious film that was cut during the writing phase. I don't know that I would have liked it as much.
Rating: Watchable. Especially if you have people you can bounce off of.
A Merry Little Ex-mas
A Merry Little Ex-mas was reasonably well written. The characters are quirky but enjoyable. The ending is predictable. I liked the interplay between the lead characters and the rest of the cast. I actually cared about the happy ending as predictable as it was.
Rating: Make hot chocolate and pop corn. Relax. Enjoy.
My Favorite Christmas Tree
This made for TV movie has an unfair advantage. It touches one of my favorite topics - family history. My Favorite Christmas Tree is a playful romp through the ups and downs of researching individuals with public and family records. It feels like it would be based on a novel in some romance
Rating: Watchable.
